By leaving the village towards the south, Kokingone gathers tightened dwellings . It is just after the junction of transversal road KONE/TIWAKA. You should stop on the tourist place named Kôoba, with on one side a superb sight on the river Tiwaka and on the other side, the ocean. Tables and small “farés” will make your happiness to picnic.
On sunday people meet at the catholic vault, which is in front of the see, for the mass or various parties organized by religious and sporting organizations.
Catherine in fond of flowers for 20 years! Her house is located at the bottom of the collar, close to the falls of Kokinghone. You can admire and buy plants and exotic bunches of flowers which she always takes care to lay out at the edge of the road.
This tribe lives from its crops and bovine breeding on right side of the Tiwaka river going down towards the tribe of Pombeï. On the road RT1, which leads you to the sea, this tribe offers pieces of coffee-trees sun.
Kokingone is opening to tourism:
Marie Thérèse is a pedestrian guide, and she is waiting for you for a wallk with a cultural explanation, and a sight towards the sea. She also proposes a visit of the falls of Kokingone with a possibility of bathing there. You will also be able to hear the history of the niaouli and the bamboo, the one of the water hole which makes "the sun and the rain".

The tribe of POUIOU is located on the littoral (sea and river), and is administratively attached to Kokingone at 8 kilometers towards North.
Population: 2 Families (10 hearths), 65 people including children.

The tribe lives from primarily fishing and from agriculture. Fish with the sparrowhawk (barbs, fish of grass, the dawa, lobsters and shells) and Taros, poingo bananas, yams, sweet potatos are used to nourish the families. You also have a lot of fruits, like coconuts, banana, papaws, apples liana, lemons, tangerines and mangos.

The site of Pouiou is a tourist place worked out by the young people of the tribe. Tourists can stop there to refresh or have a picnic time under “farés” and take photographs from this splendid sight dominating Poindimié and the Bridge of Ponandou. |
