The purpose of I point is:
- To gather any activities, which could interest tourists.
- To create an agreement with the service animation which is given the responsability to tell people when tourists come on their house.
- To inform, by phone, physically or by e-mail on the official site of the Commune.
Help and support of the GIE Northern Province tourism
Creation I Point :
It is following the days of August the 27, & 28 2005, at the time of the agricultural and artisanal festival of Touho, that the Mayor decided to create Point I.
During these 2 days, it was observed in Touho an interest of the tourists for the pedestrian activities & lodgings. Assets which up to that point had not been emphasized. Association Habwi-Ka Fatéké aims to find solutions or improvements together so that tourism develops more and more in Touho.
Patrimony
The war memorial
In 1927, the war memorial was placed beside the police station, but it was moved because people did not agree on the names which were written above. It was rebuilt in the Eighties to honour the people killed during the First World War.
The launch
The Launch was built by Mr. Mézières in 1940. It was used to tow the vats. Now, it belongs to Mr. Lévèque, it is not used anymore because it is too old. It can be seen.
The column-like pine
The column-like pine had been planted in 1870 by a chief of Tiwaka to celebrate the marriage of Mr. Dessouches with his wife. This tree has more than 135 years. It is possible to approach it because it is on the maritime field.
The elementary school
The elementary school was built in 1936 by the town hall. It is always in service today. At the origin, it had only one class.
The strong castle
The strong castle was built in1864 by troops of navy and was used until 1916. Today, this building belongs to Mr. Lévèque. It is in ruins and is not used any more. It is possible to visit it with the authorization of the owner.
The old school
The old school was built about 1936, it was the house of the first teacher Mrs. Douyère Esposito. She use it to teach. Now, it belongs to Mr. and to Mrs. Mardjoecki. It is not interesting to visit it but it is possible to take photographs.
The church
The church had been built from 1885 until 1889. The fathers built it to convert the inhabitants of Touho. It can be visited.
The presbytery
The presbytery had been built in 1859 by the missionaries and the inhabitants of Touho. Today after having been several times reshaped (4 times), it is in ruins, and it can't be visited.
